A man named Amzad Hossain was killed by the sticks of two neighboring women in a dispute over untying the ropes of the flock of sheep tied in the yard of the house in Gabtali, Bogura.
The incident took place in Lathimara village of the upazila at around 5 pm on Wednesday (January 31). The deceased Amzad Hossain is the son of Azimuddin of that village.
Gabtali Model Police Station OC Abul Kalam Azad said that about fifteen days ago, an unknown person untied the flock of sheep tied with a rope in the yard of Babita Begum’s house in Lathimara village. After a few hours, she found the 8 sheep in the flock. Then she suspected the deceased Amzad’s daughter
Fatema untied the rope. Both of them had a quarrel about this. Babita along with her friend Chameli started beating Fatema on Wednesday afternoon. Amzad was also beaten with a stick when he tried to rescue his daughter. Later, the locals rescued him while injured and took him to Gabtali Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead
He also said that it is believed that Amzad died due to two women’s sticks. The accused have been absconding since the incident. Legal action is under process in this incident.
