At least five firefighting units are working to tame a major fire that erupted at a foam manufacturing facility in Kadamtali in the capital on Friday evening.

Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) Duty Officer Rozina Akter confirmed the matter, saying the fire erupted at 6:34pm at the factory located in Saddam Market area of Kadamtali.

The first unit of FSCD reached the spot within 20 minutes of the fire outbreak. Four other units joined the operation from nearby fire stations, she noted.

She could not give clues about the cause behind the incident.
