The Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence is set to see a change in its top leadership followed by several agencies after the collapse of the government.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notice appointing BUP Research Centre Dean Brig Gen Muhammad Jahed Kamal as the director general of the Fire Service on Sunday.
However, the Fire Service Department has yet to receive the notice until Monday, according to the agency’s spokesperson Shahjahan Mia.
Jahed, who has been appointed under the Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, will replace Brig Gen Md Main Uddin, the notice read.
Main Uddin, the outgoing DG, has been sent back to the armed forces.
“We have been informed about the change of DG but have yet to receive the documents,” Shahjahan said.
