Firing panic on Ghumdhum-Tumbru border, 5 schools closed

A Bangladeshi’s house has already been hit by a mortal shell on the Myanmar border. In another incident, one person was injured in the shooting. In this situation, there locals in the area are going through panic. As a result, five primary schools have been declared closed near the border of Ghumdhum and Tumbru in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban.

The closed educational institutions are – Tumbru Government Primary School, Dakshin Ghumdhum Government Primary School, Bhajabaniya Government Primary School, Baishari Government Primary School, and Tumbru Paschimkul Government Primary School.

District Commissioner Shah Mojahid Uddin said that the schools have been closed considering the general situation of the area and the safety of the students.

He said, there is a lot of tension on the border. Five schools have already been closed. Vehicular movement has been stopped at some places.
