The first ever Nazrul Concert will be held at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on 30 May.
Kabi Nazrul Institute is organising the event to mark the launch of a special album featuring ten motivational songs by National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Ten popular bands, Warfaze, Souls, Dalchhut, Ark, Shironamhin, Different Touch, MNB, Rebel, Black, and F Minor will perform at the concert.
In addition to performing the ten featured tracks from the album, the bands will also present several other popular tracks by Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Talking to the media about the event, Kazi Nazrul Institute Executive Director Latiful Islam Shibli said, “This album and concert were on my agenda after taking charge. It also finds an important place in the Ministry of Cultural Affairs’ ‘seven priority initiatives’. With the sacrifice of the students and mass people, we are moving towards a country without discrimination, in our new journey, Nazrul’s songs will serve as inspiration. Therefore, we have taken the album as a responsibility. After discussing with all the big bands of the country in the last few months, we have assigned 10 bands to record Nazrul’s inspiring songs.”
The album features Kazi Nazrul’s ten classics, including “Karar Oi Louho-Kopat”, “Ei Shikol Pora Chhol”, “Tora Shob Joyodhwoni Kor”, “Jago Onoshon Bondi”, “Durggom Giri, Kantar Moru”, “O Bhai Khati Shonar Cheye Khati”, “Mora Jhonjhar Moto Uddam”, “Bajichhe Damama Bandhore Amama”, “Pordeshi Megh”, and “Joy Hok Joy Hok”.
The event will begin at 5:00pm and will be free for all attendees.
