Staff Correspondent: Five dengue patients died and 820 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until yesterday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 182 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 3,223 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 1,947 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1,276 are in other divisions.

As many as 44,802 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 41,397 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
