Dinajpur Correspondent:

At least four people were killed after a (Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation) BRTC bus hit a rickshaw van in Dinajpur’s Chirirbandar upazila on Tuesday (February 6) morning.

The deceased were identified as Nazrul Islam Nazu (45), Abdul Mozid (50), Natta Yang Chakma (52) and Saingo Chakma (45).

All the deceased were passengers of the van.

Tariqul Islam, officer in charge (OC) of Dasmile Highway police confirmed the matter.

The van was hit by a BRTC bus bound for Rangpur in Ranirbandar area of Rangpur-Dinajpur highway on today’s morning, leaving the four people dead on the spot, he said.

Seven to eight people were injured and they have been admitted to different hospitals in that area, he added.

However, the bus driver and his helper fled from the spot.
