A Gazipur court has granted two days’ remand for each of the seven persons arrested in connection with the murder of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin.
Md Alamgir Al Mamun, judge of the Gazipur Metropolitan Magistrate Court, issued the remand order on Saturday afternoon after police produced the accused, seeking a 10-day remand.
The accused are Ketu Mizan, his wife Parul Akhter alias Golapi, Al Amin, Swadhin, Shah Jalal, Suman and Foysal Hassan Sabbir.
Operations are ongoing to apprehend other culprits.
Tuhin, a staff reporter for Dainik Protidiner Kagoj, was hacked to death in public by a group of armed men near the Gazipur Chowrasta on Thursday night.
Md Selim, the victim’s brother, filed a case accusing 20 to 25 unnamed individuals with Basan Police Station under Gazipur Metropolitan Police, said Officer-in-Charge Md Shahin Khan.
