Gold price falls in local market

The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price chart of different kinds of gold. Best quality 22-carat gold has been cut by Tk 1,073. The new price will be effective from tomorrow Monday (July 1).

This information was informed on Sunday in a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, chairman of the standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of BAJUS.

Meanwhile, as a result of price reduction, the price of best quality i.e. 22 carat gold will be 1 lakh 17 thousand 282 taka. Currently, good quality gold is being sold at Tk 1 lakh 18 thousand 355 per load.

In the notification, Bajus said that the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. The new price of gold has been fixed keeping in view the overall situation.

According to the new price, 21-carat gold will be sold at Tk 111,951, 18-carat at Tk 95,960 and traditional gold at Tk 79,339.

Meanwhile, the price of gold has been increased but the price of silver has been kept unchanged. According to the category, currently, the price of 22-carat silver is 2,100 taka, 21 carat is 2,006 taka, 18 carat is 1,715 taka and the price of traditional silver is 1,283 taka.
