Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs, stated that if necessary, the bodies of those killed in clashes surrounding the National Citizens Party (NCP) rally in Gopalganj will be exhumed for autopsy.
He said an autopsy could not be conducted because the relatives of the deceased had taken the bodies away. However, if needed, the bodies buried in Gopalganj will be exhumed for post-mortem examination.
He made these remarks to reporters on Saturday (July 19) afternoon after inspecting operations at the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The Home Affairs Adviser added that an investigation is ongoing to determine whether the administration bears any responsibility for the Gopalganj incident. The committee will review the matter, and based on its report, action will be taken against those responsible.
