The government has recalled the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of five districts from their posts, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday, March 1.

The recalled officials are Mohammad Alam Hossain of Gazipur, Kazi Md. Sayemuzzaman of Panchagarh, Md. Iqbal Hossain of Kushtia, Md. Saifur Rahman of Netrokona, and Md. Shahadat Hossain Masud of Chapainawabganj.

The ministry did not immediately disclose the reasons behind the recalls or announce replacements for the five district administrators.

Deputy Commissioners serve as the chief administrative officers at the district level in Bangladesh, overseeing law and order, revenue collection, and coordination of government services.
