The names of two police stations of Bangladesh Police have been changed. The two police stations are located at both ends of the Jamuna Bridge and they are renamed by the government.

This information was shared in a notification issued by the Police-2 branch of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday. The notification was signed by senior assistant secretary Toushif Ahmed.

The Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station under Tangail District Police has been renamed as ‘Jamuna Bridge East Police Station’. In addition, the Bangabandhu Bridge West Police Station under Sirajganj District Police has been renamed as ‘Jamuna Bridge West Police Station’.

Earlier, the government changed the name of Bangabandhu Bridge on February 26. The official name of Bangabandhu Bridge was ‘Jamuna Bridge’.
