Govt sends 9 police officers into retirement

The government has officially sent nine unarmed police inspectors who previously served as officers-in-charge (OC) in Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) into retirement.

On Sunday, Police-2 Branch of Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs issued nine official retirement notifications.

These orders, signed by Deputy Secretary Nasimul Ghani, were issued in accordance with the directive of President.

The notifications state that, under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018), these officers have been retired from government service in the public interest. The retired officers are entitled to retirement benefits as per regulations. The orders are effective immediately.

The officers have sent into retirement include Md. Kamal Hossain, Inspector (Unarmed) of Jamuna Bridge East Naval Outpost; Nurul Islam, Inspector of CID in Moulvibazar; Abu Bakar Siddiq, Inspector of Tangail’s Madhupur Circle Office; Mamunur Rashid, Inspector of Tourist Police in Munshiganj and Padma Bridge Zone; SM Kamruzzaman, Inspector of Narayanganj District Reserve Office; Abdul Kuddus Fakir, Inspector of CID in Narshingdi; Shikdar Md. Shamim Hossain, Inspector of Bogura’s APBN-4; Abdul Latif, Inspector of CID Control Room and Md. Selimuzzaman, Inspector of Kulaura Railway Police Station.
