The interim government’s advisory council meeting took a ethical decision on repealing the controversial Cyber ​​Security Act.

This decision was taken in a meeting held at the office of the Chief Adviser at Tejgaon in the capital under the chairmanship of Chief adviserMuhammad Yunus on Thursday.

At the end of the meeting, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser on Environment, Forest and Climate Change, confirmed this information.

Earlier, on October 3, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul had said that the Cyber ​​Security Act should be repealed.

He remarked, of course, this law will be repealed and when the new law comes in later, its main objective will be to provide cyber security and ensure the safety of citizens.

After the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina government in a student uprising, the Digital Security Act was repealed and replaced by the Cyber ​​Security Act. However, strong objections were raised against this law from various levels, including journalists, and there was widespread debate and criticism. In the end, the interim government reached a ethical decision to repeal the Act.
