Govt treasury bill issuance jumps 4.3% in Nov: BB report

The government issued treasury bills worth Tk 31,289.13 crore in November 2025, up 4.30 percent from the preceding month, according to Bangladesh Bank (BB) data.

BB’s Money Market Dynamics report shows that four auctions were held during the month, where the weighted average rates for the 91-day, 182-day, and 364-day treasury bills stood at 9.99 percent, 10.03 percent, and 10.01 percent respectively.

The cut-off rate of the 91-day treasury bills declined in the first three weeks, hitting a low of 10.07 percent, before rising to 10.14 percent in the final auction.

The first auction of November was 10 basis points lower, the BB report said.

For the 182-day treasury bills, the cut-off rate rose by 30 basis points in the second week but then declined steadily over the subsequent three auctions.

In contrast, the 364-day treasury bills followed an upward trend, increasing from 9.99 percent to 10.25 percent over the month.
