The information of 90,000 government employees who got jobs as children of freedom fighters is being collected, said Advisor on Liberation War Affairs Faruk E Azam.

He shared this information at a discussion meeting organized by Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Monday afternoon.

The Advisor on Liberation War Affairs said that after collecting information on those who got jobs as children of freedom fighters, legal action will be taken against those who got jobs as children of fake freedom fighters.

He said that during the previous government, many people took various benefits by accepting fake freedom fighter certificates.

Especially, many non-freedom fighters were given certificates through the courts. Despite the existence of institutions like the National Freedom Fighters Council (JAMUKA), the court issued these instructions.

However, Faruk E Azam said that the interim government will go to the court for a coordinated directive from the Appellate Division to eliminate fake freedom fighters.

At the event, BNP Chairperson’s advisor Abdus Salam said, “Freedom fighters cannot be divided for political reasons. Even if they go to jail, a division system must be maintained for freedom fighters.”
