Green chilies’ price drops, chicken, vegs and egg go up

The price of green chillies has decreased by Tk 60 per kg in the capital market. But the price of chicken has increased. Besides vegetables, egg and rice prices are high.

This information was obtained by visiting Shewrapara, Motijheel, Hatirpool, Karwan Bazar and other markets of the capital on Sunday.

Visiting different markets of the capital it is found that green chillies prices cut by Tk 60 and being sold at 120 taka per kg. In addition, eggplant 120 taka, tomato 160 taka, beans 300 taka, papaya 30 taka, bitter gourd 60 taka, cowpea 70 taka, cucumber 60 taka, local carrot 100 taka, China carrot 150 taka, spiny gourd 60 taka, ladies finger, chichinga, shrimp, kachur Mukhi, Patal, Radish, Dhundal, are being sold at 40-50 Tk.

Lemon per hali (4 piece) 10 to 20 Tk, coriander leaves Tk 250 per kg, banana hali Tk 40, sweet pumpkin Tk 40 to Tk 50 kg. Besides, it was seen that red spinach is being sold at the price of Tk 15, Gourd spinach at Tk 40, Radish spinach at Tk 15, Spinach at Tk 15 to Tk 20, Kalmi spinach at Tk 10, Malabar Spinach at Tk 40.

In the market, white farm chicken eggs are being sold at 155 taka per dozen, red eggs at 160 taka per dozen. Duck eggs were seen selling at Tk 210 per dozen, and domestic chicken eggs at Tk 210 per dozen.

Broiler chicken is being sold at Tk 190, Sonali chicken at Tk 250, and local chicken at Tk 520 to Tk 530 per kg. Beef is being sold at Tk 650 to Tk 700, head meat at Tk 450, and goat meat at Tk 1,000 to Tk 1,200 per kg.

Per kg of potatoes are being sold at Tk 50, onion at Tk 100 to Tk 110, garlic at Tk 220 and ginger at Tk 220 while 5 litres of soybean oil is at 818 taka, 1 kg of local lentils at 130 taka.

The rice market has been high for a long time. Coarse rice at 55 takas, miniket at 70 taka, Atab rice at 58 taka, red aman rice at 75 taka, fragrant sugar powder and fried rice at 125 taka.

It has been seen in the fish market hilsa fish is being sold at Tk 900 to 1800 depending on sizes, horn fish is being sold at Tk 350 to 500 taka per kg (depending on size), Rui is being sold at Tk 280 to 400 taka per kg (depending on size), local magur Tk 800-1000 per kg, mrigel 350 to 400 taka per kg, Pangas 210 to 230 taka per kg, Shrimp 800 to 1,400 taka, Boal 500 to 900 taka, katal 400 to 600 taka, Poa 450 to 450 taka, Pabda 400 to 500 taka, Tilapia 220 taka, Koi 220 to 240 taka, Mala 600 Tk, Batasi Tengra Tk 1,300, Tengra Tk 600 to Tk 800, Kachki Tk 500, Panchmishali Tk 220, Rupchanda Tk 1,200, Baim Tk 1,200 to Tk 1,400, Desi Koi Tk 1,200, snakehead murrel (Shoal) Tk 600 to Tk 900 Tk, air is being sold at Tk 650 to Tk 800 and Bele Tk 900 per kg.

At present, Indian cumin is around Tk 780 per kg, Shahi cumin Tk 1660, Sweet cumin Tk 240, Panchphodon Tk 200, Randhuni Tk 500, Fenugreek Tk 150, Peanut Tk 160, Cashew nut Tk 1600, Pistachio Tk 2750, Triphala Tk 150, Jaiphal Tk 800, Bay leaves Tk 180, White Pepper Tk 1,200 to Tk 1,300, Pepper Tk 1,200, Coriander Tk 250, Mustard Tk 100, Raisins Tk 520 to Tk 540, Cardamom Tk 3,800, Black cardamom is selling at Tk 3,000, cloves at Tk 1,700, jaitri at Tk 2,900, poppy seed at Tk 1,800, potato at Tk 550, cinnamon at Tk 550, turmeric powder at Tk 370, chili powder at Tk 440. Spice prices vary from market to market.
