Bangladesh has sought the cooperation of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in investigating the killing and ensuring justice for Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
As per the instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh in Geneva sent an official Note Verbale to OHCHR on 6 February 2026.
In the note, Bangladesh requested necessary technical and institutional support from the UN human rights office in investigating the killing.
According to a message from the Bangladesh Mission in Geneva, any response from OHCHR will be immediately conveyed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The government reiterates its firm commitment to identifying those responsible for Hadi’s killing and bringing them under the purview of law. It further assures that maximum transparency and accountability will be ensured in line with international human rights standards.
