Hajj pre-registration begins; 52,836 pilgrims registered so far

The early registration for Hajj 2025 has started from September 1. Yesterday till Wednesday A total of 52,836 people have been pre-registered till yesterday, Wednesday (October 2)

According to the Hajj management portal, 2,753 pilgrims have completed pre-registration through the government and 50,083 pilgrims through private institutions till Wednesday. On the other hand, 609 people have registered primarily through the government and 402 through the private sector.

“The registration process will continue till November 30 and this period will not be extended,” said the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

For Hajj, the first step is to pre-register by paying a fee of Tk 30,000. Later, the initial registration has to be completed by paying Tk 3 lakh. The remaining amount can be paid when the Hajj package is announced.

This year, Bangladesh was given a quota of 127,198 pilgrims, however, this year only 85,257 pilgrims have been able to travel.

Ministry of Religious Affairs informed that Bangladesh has received the same number of quotas for 2025. Pilgrims and agencies have demanded to “reduce the cost” to meet the quota.
