Hasan Mahmud, former foreign minister of the Awami League government who resigned in the face of the students’ movement, has been arrested.

Hasan Mahmud was reportedly detained from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Tuesday (August 6).

According to multiple sources, Foreign Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Hasan Mahmud tried to escape the country through HSIA Airport but failed. He later tried to escape through a land port on the border with neighboring India.
