BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that although Sheikh Hasina has fled the country, her “ghosts and cohorts” still remain embedded in the administration, working to create unrest and destabilise the interim government.
Speaking to reporters in Brahmanbaria on Thursday Rizvi alleged that these elements are plotting to ensure the failure of Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and to prevent free and fair elections.
He said, “Those responsible for Sheikh Hasina’s cruelty, repression, and bloodshed have been given green signals from the passport office to leave the country. Such criminals should not get such clearance, but those embedded in the administration are implementing Hasina’s long-term blueprint through chaos and anarchy.”
Rizvi made the remarks while handing over gifts to a school student on behalf of BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, in Brahmanbaria town.
The student, Ahnaf Bin Ashraf Nabil, a 10th-grader at Niaz Mohammad High School and a young researcher, has developed a mobile application named “Guardian Angel” aimed at ensuring children’s mental health and safety. He will present his innovation at two upcoming international conferences — one in Turkey and the other in the United States.
Accompanying Rizvi at the event were BNP Economic Affairs Secretary Engineer Khaled Hossain Mahboob Shaymal, convener of Amra BNP Poribar Atikur Rahman, and district BNP General Secretary Sirajul Islam Siraj, among others.
