BNP’s standing committee member and former State Minister for Power Ikbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said, Sheikh Hasina has looted crores of Taka from the people in the name of so-called developments. Due to her stealing of money, people of the country are now bearing the burden of debt. Not only that, she used police and administration in her all illicit deeds. But, she did not get rid from the clutch of agitating people. She was forced to flee country to protect herself.

He told this on Thursday, while addressing a grand harmony rally as chief guest held at Bazar Station area in Sirajganj town.

Tuku also said, Awami League had been carried out indescribable torture and harassment to the BNP leaders and activists for the last 16 years. Due to lodging several false cases, I have also become victim of harassment along with my family members. I could not come out of home in fear of Awami League leaders-activists and police. But now, Hasina has fled the country on the face of students-public movement.

Tuku farther said, Hasina and her associates will be brought to back in the country. They must face trial. People of the country will not spare them. Their trial will be held on the soil of Bangladesh.

The programme was presided over by Romana Mahmud, President of Sirajganj District BNP and former Parliament Member, while BNP’s executive committee member and district BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu, Assistant Organizing Secretary of Rajshahi divisional BNP Amirul Islam Khan Alim, District BNP Vice-President Mozibur Rahman Lebu, veteran BNP leader Mokbul Hossain Chowdhury, Kamal Munshi, Nazmul Hasan Talukder Rana and District Organizing Secretary Mirza Mostafa Zaman among others were also present in the event.

Ikbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku urged the people to vote for BNP in the upcoming national parliament election. He assured the Sirajganj dwellers to stay beside them forever like previous BNP regime.

BNP will never flee from the people. BNP believes democracy and it wants to stand by the people, for the people and of the people, he said.
