The High Court on Wednesday failed to hold the hearing on a writ that sought a directive to stop firing on protesting students and to release the six coordinators from DB custody.
The next hearing date will be announced later.
The hearing was scheduled to be held before the court of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice SM Masud Hossain Dolon. But as justice Dolon is on leave due to physical illness, the hearing was not held
Earlier on Monday (July 29), Supreme Court lawyers Manzur Al Matin and AynunNaharSiddika filed a writ petition seeking the immediate release of the six coordinators of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement from DB custody and an order to stop firing on protesters.
During the hearing on Tuesday, the High Court expressed deep shame over the deaths that occurred during the Quota Reform Movement, stating that all deaths are tragic.
