A 30-year-old woman who was infected with HMPV died at Mohakhali Infectious Disease Hospital on Thursday (16 January).

THE DECEASED WAS IDENTIFIED AS SANJIDA AKTER.

Confirming the matter, In-Charge of the hospital Ariful Bashar said, “The woman died at 7:00 pm on Wednesday. She did not die from the infection, rather she died of other complications.”

“She did not die solely from the HMPV infection. She had several underlying conditions, including obesity, kidney issues, and lung complications as revealed by X-rays,” he said.

“The woman was obese and had kidney problems. Her family members has received her body,” Ariful added.
