In a major announcement that has thrilled fans, “Krrish 4”, the next instalment of the popular Indian superhero franchise, has been officially confirmed, with Hrithik Roshan making his directorial debut. Moreover, the film is co-produced by his father, Rakesh Roshan, and Yash Raj Films’ Aditya Chopra.
Rakesh Roshan shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo with Hrithik and writing, “Duggu, 25 years ago I launched you as an actor. on Friday Aditya Chopra and I launch you as a director for our most ambitious film, ‘Krrish 4’. Wishing you all the success in this new journey.”
The “Krrish” franchise began in 2006 as a continuation of the 2003 sci-fi hit “Koi Mil Gaya”, directed by Rakesh Roshan. The films in the franchise, starring Hrithik in the titular role of Krrish, became some of India’s most beloved superhero stories. The last instalment, “Krrish 3”, was released in 2013.
Fan reactions to the announcement have been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, with many calling it “epic” and predicting box office records. However, details regarding the cast and crew are still under wraps, and it remains unclear whether Hrithik will reprise his role as the masked hero.
