HSC results via subject mapping:Candidates asked to submit info by 12 Sep

The results for the HSC 2024 and equivalent exams will be announced through subject mapping.

To this effect, the Dhaka Education Board has issued urgent instructions to HSC and equivalent candidates to submit attested photocopies of JSC and SSC exam mark sheets and admit cards by 12 September.

The notification signed by Prof Md Abul Bashar, controller of examinations of Dhaka Education Board, was issued on Wednesday.

Dhaka Education Board chairman Tapan Kumar Sarkar stated that previous exam results, including SSC and JSC, are required for mapping subjects, while prior thematic results will be reviewed to generate results. That’s why the information is requested.

Mentionable, the HSC exams began on 30 June nationwide, while exams in the Sylhet board started on 9 July due to flooding.

Due to violence related to the quota reform movement, exams on 18, 21, 23, 25, 28 July, and 1 and 4 August were postponed.

A new schedule was released on 11 September and students later demanded results through subject mapping instead of taking the remaining exams.

The decision was made not to conduct the remaining exams, and the results will be based on subject mapping for the subjects not tested.

Later, officials of the education boards met to prepare results within 1.5 months but couldn’t complete the evaluation procedure for postponed exams.

In such a situation, instructions have been issued to send necessary documents, including academic transcripts of JSC and SSC examinations, to the board of governors and directors of all examination centres for the publication of this year’s HSC exam results.

According to the instructions of the board, private SSC candidates who passed before 1996 must submit SSC mark sheets and HSC exam 2024 admit cards to the Dhaka board’s Higher Secondary Examination Department after director ratification.

The institution concerned must collect the list of candidates from the examination department of higher secondary education.

Academic transcript of JSC equivalent (where applicable) and SSC equivalent exam, Dhaka Education Board equivalent certificate, and HSC exam 2024 Admit Card of HSC 2024 equivalent certificate candidates, to be submitted to the Higher Secondary Examination section of Dhaka Board manually.

Candidates who passed JSC and SSC examinations and appeared for HSC must submit their academic transcript and admit card photocopy to the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education after verification from the principal.

Besides, information about all candidates and the marks obtained in the practical examination of ICT subjects (obtained during class activities) should be sent online, and its printed version should be stored at the centre.

The original copy must be submitted manually to the Higher Secondary Education Examination Department of the Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

Candidates cannot be taken to the college on the pretext of practical examination under no circumstances, said the notification.

Additionally, candidates must keep a copy of the subjective signature script at the centre and submit the original to the Higher Secondary Education Examination Department.
