A human chain was formed in Kamarkhand of Sirajganj district protesting to the decision of resisting kindergarten students from participating in the Primary Education Completion (PEC) scholarship examination.
The demonstration was organized by the Kamarkhand Kindergarten Association at 11:00 am on Sunday (July 20, 2025) at the Kamarkhand Upazila Parishad premises.
About 200 teachers and 800 students from at least two dozen kindergartens in the upazila participated in this programme under the leadership of the organization’s President Md. Fazlul Karim Liton and General Secretary Md. Abdul Hannan.
The human chain expressed widespread anger and frustration among teachers and guardians. The speakers said that kindergarten school students have been participating in the primary education completion examination for years. But this time the decision not to allow them to participate in this examination is a direct discrimination and injustice against the students.
The speakers also said that, we must ensure that our young students get equal opportunities. Depriving kindergarten students means neglecting the future of a large population.
After the human chain, the teacher representatives submitted a memorandum to the Upazila Administration and Upazila Education Office.
