Sports Desk:
Bangladesh was scheduled to face the hosts USA today in their first official warm-up match for the upcoming T20 World Cup. However, the match was canceled at the last minute by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The match was scheduled to start at 9:30 pm Bangladesh time at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. But before that, a natural disaster hit the match venue. The venue is not in a condition to host the match.
And so the ICC was forced to cancel the match due to hostile weather. Bangladesh and the USA recently played a bilateral T20 series, where the Tigers lost the series to the United States by 2-1.
Bangladesh will play a warm-up match against India before the start of the tournament despite the cancellation of the match against the USA. This match will be held on June 1 in New York. Meanwhile, the World Cup will start on June 2.
Bangladesh is in the ‘D’ group in this tournament. The Tigers will start their World Cup mission with a match against Sri Lanka on June 8. Then Bangladesh will play against South Africa on June 10, the Netherlands on June 13 and Nepal on June 17.
