The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) issued an arrest warrant for Md Harun-Ar-Rashid, the former Director General of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

The arrest warrant was issued on Sunday in a case filed for his alleged crimes against humanity during the July-August Mass uprising of 2024.

The tribunal, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mazumder, passed the order after the prosecution sought an arrest warrant for Harun.

During the hearing, the prosecution informed the tribunal that as chief of the RAB, Harun-Ar-Rashid planned for indiscriminate firing from helicopters and mass killings and implemented these during the July-August movement.
