Major (Retd.) Sinha of the Army at the Baharchhara ABPN checkpost of Marine Drive. RAB has issued a chargesheet against 15 people, including Teknaf Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das, in the Rashed Khan murder case.

The chargesheet was filed in the Cox’s Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court on Sunday (December 13) by RAB-15 officer Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md. Khairul Alam. The chargesheet was filed under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Whose maximum punishment is death. The state expects to be able to prove Section 302 allegations against the accused.

Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge’s Court Public Prosecutor (PP) Faridul Islam said the RAB had issued chargesheets against 15 people, including OC Pradeep , in the Sinha murder case . In the chargesheet, charges have been brought against the accused under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Whose maximum punishment is death. We will do our utmost to prove the Section 302 allegations against the accused.

Lieutenant Colonel Ashiq Billah, director of the RAB’s legal and media wing, told Jago News that 15 accused, including OC Pradeep, had planned to kill Major Sinha. The accused have been given a chargesheet under Section 302 of the Penal Code today.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Ashiq Billah, director of RAB’s legal and media wing, told a press conference at RAB’s media center at Karwan Bazar in the capital this afternoon that Major (retd) Sinha Md. Rashed Khan was killed. After the murder, OC Pradeep staged a drug rescue drama with Baharchhara camp inspector Liaquat Ali and other accused. Former OC of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep was the mastermind behind Sinha’s murder. There OC Pradeep built an empire of weapons and torture. He has committed immoral acts using government weapons.

He further said that through the witnesses of the incident, the evidence, the investigating officer of the case objectively confirmed through the statements of the accused that it was a premeditated murder. OC Pradeep was the mastermind of the murder. He played a key role in covering up the killings and diverting them to other sectors. Another accused SI Liaquat Ali participated in the direct conspiracy of Pradeep Kumar Das, Md. Nurul Amin, police sources Muhammad Ayaz and Mohammad Nizamuddin. Another policeman Nandadulal assisted Liaquat Ali again. Besides, the murder took place with the help of three members of APBN. Later, more policemen from the outpost were involved in confirming Sinha’s death and in the flow of events.

After more than four months, the case was discussed and the report was submitted today.

After submitting the chargesheet, ASP said in the court area. Khairul Alam said, ‘We have investigated the Sinha murder case in various ways. The information obtained in the investigation has been arranged and submitted as a chargesheet. Thanks to the media for being with us. ‘

He further said, “RAB has found the involvement of 15 people in the incident after investigating the murder. Among the accused, 14 are in jail, including the sacked OC Pradeep. An associate of OC Pradeep named Sagar has been shown as a fugitive.

According to sources, Pradeep Kumar, former OC of Teknaf Police Station, Liakat Ali, Inspector of Baharchhara Camp, SI Nandadulal Rakshit, some policemen of Teknaf Police Station, three members of Armed Police Battalion-APBN and three locals were arrested in the case.

On July 3, Major (Retd.) Sinha went to Nilima Resort in Cox’s Bazar with three associates to shoot a travels show documentary on a YouTube channel called ‘Just Go’. The news reached the then Teknaf OC Pradeep Kumar. Since then, OC Pradeep has told police subordinates, “The video party must be removed from here at any cost.” Since then, Sinha has been kept under surveillance by Inspector Liaquat and SI Nandadulal.

OC Pradeep was informed after the ‘tree planting’ ceremony of the law enforcement agencies on the morning of July 31 that Major Sinha Rashed had gone to Shamlapur hill in Teknaf in a private car. At that time, the inspector in charge of Baharchhara camp, Liaquat Ali Sinha, kept an eye on the source.

On the same day (July 31) at around 10 pm on the way to Cox’s Bazar from Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive, Major (Retd.) Sinha got out of the car in the name of search at Shamlapur check post of Baharchhara Union. Rashed was shot dead.

The incident caused a stir across the country. The Home and Public Security Department of the Home Ministry formed a high-level inquiry committee headed by Chittagong Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman. Similarly, 16 policemen, including Liaquat Ali, in-charge of the Baharchhara investigation center in Teknaf, were withdrawn for the sake of investigation.

Meanwhile, on August 5, Sinha’s sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a murder case against nine people, including former Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das. The main accused in the case was Liakat Ali, the inspector in charge of the Baharchhara police outpost, who shot Sinha. Teknaf Police Station OC (dismissed) Pradeep Kumar Das has been made the number two accused.(Source:Online)
