The government has extended the tenure of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun for another year.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification on Friday in this regard.
The notification said Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has been appointed inspector general of police for another year on a contractual basis as per Section 49 of the Public Service Act 2018.
Before holding the office of IGP, he served in different capacities, including as the additional IGP and the director-general of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
