The construction of illegal installations on the government land has been halted with the rapid initiative of the Raiganj upazila administration after publishing a news-report on ‘The Daily Sky’ regarding it.
Khadiza Khatun, Assistant Commissioner of Land in Raiganj confirmed the matter to The Daily Sky correspondent yesterday.
Earlier on Thursday last (December 26, 2024), ‘The Daily Sky’ published a report titled “Construction of Pacca installation goes on grabbing govt land in Raiganj” that drew attention to the concerned district administration and upazila administration.
Khadiza Khatun told ‘The Daily Sky’ Correspondent that, “After publishing the report, we have taken rapid step to shut down the construction on the government land according to the directive of higher authorities. Necessary action would be taken shortly to evict the illegal structures, which has already set up there.”
It is mentionable that, Belal Hossain, son of late Jalil Hossain of Rouha village under Dhanghora union of Raiganj upazila in the district started construction of Pacca installations (rooms) on the roadside land owned by local LGED and Zilla Parishad offices near Lakshmikhola Baza’ar.
Belal Hossain claimed that, he had been carrying business on the land for long after establishing tin shed rooms. After a span of time, he started construction of Pacca rooms there. But, his illegal motive was finally foiled by the initiative of local upazila administration.
