In the wake of workers’ protests demanding salary hikes, the factories of Incepta Pharmaceuticals located at Dhamrai in Dhaka and Zirabo Kathgara in Ashulia have been declared closed.

The concerned authorities verbally announced the closure of the two factories on Thursday (September 5).

Around 3,400 workers work in these two factories. It is learned that the two factories will be opened after discussing with the workers.

On September 2 around 7 pm, the workers of both factories of Incepta Pharmaceuticals locked the gate of the main gate of the factory and blocked the staff and officials to demand a salary increase. When the owner accepted the demand verbally around 3:30 pm on September 3, the workers opened the gate and the officials got out safely.
