Bangladesh’s planned mid December tour of India, which was due to feature three one day internationals and three Twenty20s, has been thrown into doubt after both boards confirmed that the Indian government has not yet granted the required approval.
A Bangladesh Cricket Board official told sources that the sign off has still not arrived, putting the entire series at risk. India last toured Bangladesh in 2023 for a five match T20 series, and before that played three ODIs and three T20s in Mirpur.
An official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India told Indian media that governmental clearance remains outstanding, adding to the uncertainty. If approval does not come through, India are understood to be considering arranging an alternative series.
