Citing threat to national security concerns, the Indian government has blocked YouTube gateways of four Bangladeshi television channels.

The channels are Jamuna TV, Ekattor TV, BanglaVision, and Mohona TV.

YouTube blocked the access to the channels in the Indian territory following requests from the Indian government.

Now, the YouTube users in India are unable to access the YouTube channels of these four Bangladeshi satellite television channels using their Indian IP address.

When they want to access the channels, they get a message about the unavailability of the channels due to the government order which is about the national security or breach of public order.

The government of India trying to control the online content which appear threat to the country. As part of the efforts, the YouTube channels of Bangladeshi satellite television channels have been restricted to the country.

Besides, India has also blocked some channels from Pakistan with the charges of sharing harmful content for India’s sovereignty and public order.

According to a report from the dismislab, India also has blocked the website of the War India because of the current tension with Pakistan over Pahelgam attack.

Over the incident, the War India posted on their X (formerly known as Twitter) account that this blocking is a complete violation of the press of freedom awarded by the Indian constitution to the mass media.

Earlier, X informed that the Indian government approached them to block over 8000 accounts, and among those, the accounts of mass media was listed.

The dismislab report also informs over dozens of Pakistani YouTube channels, Instagram profile of superstars and politicians were blocked in India following the request of the Indian government.
