Inflation has declined again in the month of April, reaching 9.17%, down from 9.35% in the previous month, according to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
According to the data released on Monday (May 5), both food and non-food inflation also declined.
Food inflation dropped to 8.63% in April, compared to 8.93% in March.
Meanwhile, non-food inflation decreased to 9.61% in April, down from 9.70% in March.
Last month, food inflation had fallen to 8.93%, down from 9.24% in February, while general inflation rose slightly – after three months of downward trend – to 9.35% from 9.32% over the same period.
Non-food inflation had risen to 9.70% in March, up from 9.38% the previous month. General inflation in the country was 11.38% in November last year.
