As New Zealand comfortably secured a five-wicket victory over Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, Rachin Ravindra reflected on the challenge posed by Bangladesh’s bowling unit. His century anchored the chase, but he was quick to acknowledge the quality of Bangladesh’s attack and the potential of its young talents.

“Rana is a very good talent. I was playing him for the first time on Tuesday. It is cool to look at Bangladesh’s bowling stocks,” Ravindra said after the match.

With Mustafizur Rahman (Fizz) and Taskin Ahmed leading the charge with their experience, Bangladesh continues to build a formidable bowling lineup. But it was Nahid Rana, who caught Ravindra’s eye.

“Rana is very young. He bowls quite quickly. I am excited to see him develop and hopefully we get to play against him in the future.”

Bangladesh batters made an impact early in the innings, pushing New Zealand onto the back foot. But they soon faded away.

“Bangladesh started really well in the powerplay. I think their openers kept the tempo going. We were under the pump on a good wicket,” he admitted.

Despite scoring a century, Ravindra emphasized that batting against such a disciplined attack was never easy.

“I don’t think I made it look simple. They strung together dot balls. They bowled really well. They didn’t give any width.”

Bangladesh’s bowling stocks are certainly on the rise, with a mix of seasoned campaigners and promising young talent. As Ravindra’s words suggest, the cricketing world should keep a close eye on their development.
