Bangladesh posted 133 in their 20 overs in the second T20I against Pakistan at the Sher-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday thanks to a resilient half-century by Jaker Ali.
The hosts had a disastrous start to the match after being asked to bat first. They lost their first four batters inside the powerplay and were reduced to 28/4.
Then Jaker and Mahedi built a 53-run partnership before Mahedi was caught at long off after scoring 33 of 25 balls hitting two boundaries and two maximums.
Jakeer kept on going, reached his third T20I half-century and eventually scored 55 before getting caught at long-on in the final delivery of the innings.
He hit one boundary and five maximums during his 48-ball stay.
For Pakistan, Salman Mirza, debutant Ahmed Daniyal and Abbas Afridi bagged a brace each.
The visitors will need to chase down 134 to stay alive in the three-match series.
