Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has invited Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to attend its upcoming iftar gathering.

Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar and Assistant Secretary Maulana Abdul Halim met the Prime Minister at his office in the Secretariat in Dhaka on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the Jamaat leaders formally invited the Prime Minister to the party’s iftar mahfil scheduled for 28 February.

At the time, the Prime Minister also spoke with the party’s Ameer and inquired about his health, as he is reportedly unwell.

No further details regarding the meeting or the invitation were immediately disclosed.
