Legendary rock musician Nagarbaul James James has announced his marriage and the birth of his son, Gibran Anam, with his third wife, US-born Bangladeshi Namia Amin, now known as Namia Anam. The child was born on June 8, 2025, at Huntington Hospital in New York.

James said, “At this stage of my life, the arrival of my son may well mark a turning point. By the boundless grace of Allah, I am well,” he said. “For as long as I live, I hope to keep singing. I humbly ask for everyone’s prayers—please remember me in your thoughts and prayers.”

James and Namia married in Dhaka on June 12, 2024, in a private family ceremony, a year after first meeting at an event in Los Angeles in June 2023. According to James, Namia was not familiar with his work when they met, but the encounter led to a friendship that later grew into a relationship and marriage.

This marks James’s third marriage. He was first married to film actress Rathi in 1991; the couple divorced in 2003. His second marriage was to Benjir Sazzad, whom he met in 2000 and married in the United States—the two parted ways by mutual consent in 2014. James has three children from his previous marriages — one son and two daughters.

Namia, who holds US citizenship, earned her degree in criminal justice from John Jay College in New York. Following the birth of their child, she and James returned to Bangladesh and are currently living with their newborn son.

James, known for his powerful vocals and as a defining figure in Bangladesh’s rock scene, had largely remained out of the public eye for nearly a decade after his second divorce. The singer described the arrival of his son as a “renewal” and expressed gratitude for this new chapter in his life. “I will forever be thankful to Allah,” he said, asking fans to keep the mother and child in their prayers.
