Janhvi Kapoor made a splashing entry at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. She exuded royalty in a blush pink Tarun Tahiliani lehenga, which was handcrafted in Banaras. She was joined by filmmaker Karan Johar, Neeraj Ghaywan, Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa on the prestigious red carpet.

Ahead of the screening of their film, ‘Homebound’, the team made a statement on the red carpet. Sharing pictures of her all decked up in diamonds and pearls, she wrote, “#Homebound at the 78th #CannesFilmFestival (sic).”

Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Jahnvi was a treat for the sore eyes. She exuded royal princess vibes in a corset top, pleated skirt and a matching drape. A low bun, dewy makeup and winged eyeliner accentuated her features.

Janhvi’s outfit is a perfect blend of tradition and modernism. The ghoonghat (a veil or headscarf) added a traditional yet modern touch to the lehenga and was seen as a tribute to her Indian roots. Her ‘Homebound’ co-star Ishaan Khatter and director Neeraj Ghaywan helped her on the red carpet.

Ishaan opted for a custom-made Gaurav Gupta red velvet ensemble for his Cannes debut. Sharing a video, he wrote,  all hands on deck ‘Homebound’ (sic).”
