JaPa has full support for the interim government, he said this during a press conference at the JaPa chairman’s Banani office on Friday.

He said: “Necessary amendments to Article 70 of the constitution will have to be made, and the powers of the parliamentary standing committees have to be increased.

“Over the last 15 years, investigations into the corruption of ministers, MPs, bureaucrats, and police must be conducted, and they must be brought under the law. Measures must be taken to recover money laundered abroad through legal means.”

Chunnu said: “The first task is to restore law and order in the country. The police force’s reasonable demands must be accepted. Families of the leaders who were martyred in the movement must be compensated. Legal action should be taken against the killers and those involved in looting police stations and killing policemen.”

He added that increasing remittance flows, prioritizing export trade, boosting foreign investment, and supporting freelancers are crucial to tackling economic challenges. He urged promptly opening educational institutions, addressing inconsistencies in textbooks, and changing the election process to a proportional representation system.

Necessary reforms must be made in constitutional institutions, including the Election Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission, and Public Service Commission to free them from influence, he also added.

“A law should be enacted for full separation of the judiciary and appointment of judges to the High Court. In the current parliamentary system, the balance of power between the president and parliament should be created by reducing the sole power of the prime minister.

“A citizen should not be able to become prime minister more than twice. The person who will be the prime minister again cannot be the leader of the parliament,” he said.
