Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Thursday said Japan will be one of the most important manpower markets for Bangladesh in the coming days.

He said Japan is going to be open like a “flood gate” for Bangladeshi manpower if those can be trained properly.

The press secretary made the remarks while talking to reporters in Tokyo on the second day of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus’s tour to Japan.

He said the interim government has already taken initiatives to develop skilled manpower having knowledge on Japanese language.

Noting that about 3,000 Bangladeshi youths already came to Japan for language training this year, he hoped that about 10,000 people would come to Japan within this year to study Japanese language and they would get jobs here too.

Alam said Japan is looking towards Bangladesh to recruit its human resources.

Bangladesh Embassy to Japan arranged a human resources seminar in Tokyo where Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus spoke, he said.

He said the purpose of the seminar is to inform the Japanese companies that Bangladesh has enough human resources and it is ready to send those to Japan.

A significant number of representatives of Japanese companies participated in the seminar, Alam added.
