Monday is the birthday of popular Dhallywood and Tollywood actor Jaya Ahsan. Her fans, friends, co artistes and well-wishers have sent greeting message to the artiste on the auspicious day.

Jaya Ahsan is a noted actor, model and producer in the country. She works in Bangladeshi and Indian Bengali films.

The actor started her career as a model in the late 1990s and since then she worked in numerous television dramas and serials.

She debuted her film career as a guest artiste in the film “Bachelor” directed by MostofaSarwarFarooki in 2004.  As the lead actor, she debuted in NasiruddinYousuff’s film “Guerrilla” in 2011.  Since then, Jaya Ahsan has starred in many films.

She also has acted in many Indian Bangla cinemas including, the film “Aborto” directed by ArindamSil, “Bishorjan” by KaushikGanguly, “Ek Je Chhilo Raja” by SrijitMukjerji, “Bijoya” by KaushikGanguly,  “BiniSutoy”  by Atanu Ghosh, “Bhoot Pori” and “Ardhangini”.

In December 2023, Jaya made her Bollywood debut in Kadak Singh, a thriller film by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury released on Zee5. Hindustan Times regarded her performance in the film as Outstanding” on OTT: Breakout Performance”.

She is also a singer and took diploma courses in Indian classical music and RabindraSangeet. She did playback in a few films, such as “TomerKholaHawa” in “Dubshatar” and “JongolerDaak” in “Mesidona”.

Jaya Ahsan won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress five times for her performance in the films “Guerrilla” in 2011, “Chorabali” in 2012, “Zero Degree” in 2015, “Debi” in 2018 and “Beauty Circus” in 2022.
