The Filmfare Awards is one of the best awards for Indian cinema. Apart from Bollywood, ‘Filmfare Awards Bangla’ is also given in Tollywood. This year’s list of nominations was published on Monday night. Five stars of Bangladesh got a place in the list. Actress Jaya Ahsan has been nominated in two categories.

At the Filmfare Awards Bangla 2023, Jaya was nominated for Best Actress in a Lead Role for Srijit Mukhopadhyay’s “Dasham Abatar” and Best Supporting Actress for Kaushik Ganguly’s “Ardhangini”. And through this, she won the honor of nomination for the sixth time in a row.

In 2013, Jaya’s journey in Kolkata cinema began with the movie Arindam Sheel. Jaya’s first Tollywood movie ‘Awart’ was released in West Bengal that year. She was praised for her initial work. Jaya was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Filmfare Awards Bangla 2014 for her performance in the movie; But was not rewarded.

Dhaka’s girl Jaya has been nominated in one to multiple categories in six consecutive events since Filmfare 2017. Among them, she won the Best Actress award in three consecutive seasons in 2018, 2020, and 2021. Among them, she won the award twice in the popular category, the last time in 2021 at the critics’ Awards.

Incidentally, apart from the Filmfare, Jaya has won other awards in Kolkata cinema such as one Zee Cine Award, three Tele Cine Awards, two Bengal Film Journalists Association Awards, and ABP Anand Best Bengali Award.
