Renowned Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan-starrer Tollywood film “Putul Nacher Itikotha” (The Puppet’s Tale) is set to be released in the theatres in Kolkata on Friday, marking the 90th anniversary of Manik Bandopadhyay’s timeless novel “Putul Nacher Itikotha.”

Directed by Suman Mukhopadhyay, the shooting of the movie was completed a long time ago. But due to various complications, the film has not been released. Besides Jaya, Tollywood actors Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Abir Chatterjee will be seen in lead roles.

Jaya has portrayed the character of Kushum, while Parambrata and Abir will play the roles of Shashi and Kumud, respectively. The film also features Dhritiman Chatterjee, Ananya Chatterjee, and others.

“Putul Nacher Itikotha” premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in December last year.

Additionally, Jaya-starrer “Dear Maa,” directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, was released on 18 July in Kolkata.

The actress also completed shooting for Kaushik Ganguly’s “Ajo Ardhangini,” which is a sequel to the movie “Ardhangini”. Kaushik Sen and Churni Ganguly will also co-star with Jaya. The movie is likely to be released later this year.
