The widely talked-about movie Jongli, featuring Siam Ahmed and Bubly, is now scheduled for release in Pakistan, with a new twist—it will be dubbed in Urdu for local audiences.

Previously, Shakib Khan’s Toofan and Shariful Raj’s Deyaler Desh were released in Pakistan with Bengali audio and subtitles. However, Jongli will be the first Bangladeshi film to be dubbed in Urdu and screened in the country.

Jongli was released in cinemas across Bangladesh during this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr and received a positive response from audiences. It was later released simultaneously in 40 theaters across the USA and Canada. Now, Pakistan is being added to that journey.

The film will be distributed in Pakistan by Lahore-based company Cine Entertainment. The company’s head, Asif Chaudhry, said, “We’ve already finalized all agreements with the film’s production company, Tiger Media. The Urdu dubbing is currently underway. This will be the first Bengali film to be dubbed in Urdu and released in Pakistan.”

Directed by M Raahim, Jongli stars Siam Ahmed in the title role. Child actor Nairita plays the character ‘Pakhi’. The cast also includes popular actress Shobnom Bubly, and others.

The story of the film was written by Azad Khan, while the screenplay was co-written by Mehedi Hasan Moon and Kolkata’s Sukriti Saha. The music and songs were directed by Prince Mahmud.

Zahid Hasan Abhi, head of the production house Tiger Media, said, “We believe in expanding the international market for Bengali films. The release of Jongli in Pakistan is part of that vision. All formalities are complete, and dubbing is in progress. Our beloved film will be released in Pakistan very soon.”
