Kannada actor Upendra, in an exclusive interview with India Today Digital, talked about joining hands with Superstar Rajinikanth in Coolie. The film’s shooting is progressing at a brisk pace.

Kannada superstar Upendra, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film, UI, talked about working with Superstar Rajinikanth in director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming film, Coolie. In an exclusive interview with India Today Digital, he described his experience as a ‘lifetime opportunity’. Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, will hit theatres in 2025. An official announcement regarding the date will be out soon.

Speaking about the project, Upendra called his experience of working with Rajinikanth a ‘dream come true moment’. “It was long overdue,” he said. “Once I start talking about Rajni sir, I won’t be able to stop. I have a lot to talk about him. All I can say right now is that I am very excited about the film. It’s a lifetime opportunity, I always think. It was long due. It was a dream to work with him, and now it has happened.”

On September 1, the makers of Coolie revealed the character name and poster of Upendra. Going by the poster, Upendra will be playing the role of Kaleesha in the film.

Coolie is tipped to be a larger-than-life entertainer, blending action, drama, and powerful performances. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is being shot on a grand scale, with high-octane action sequences and dramatic moments. Along with Rajnikanth, the film also stars Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Sundeep Kishan, Shruti Haasan, and Reba Monica John.

Meanwhile, Upendra is busy promoting his upcoming film UI, which is set to release on December 20. The film stars Reeshma Nanaiah, Murali Sharma, Sunny Leone, and Jisshu Sengupta, among others. UI is a dystopian science fiction action film written and directed by Upendra.
