Bangladesh Army and Navy, in a joint drive, today arrested Khulna’s one of the top terrorists ‘Chingri Palash’ in Gobarchaka area of Khulna city.
Acting on a tip-off, the joint force conducted the drive at midnight (0040) at the said area under Sonadangha police station and arrested Md Palash Talukdar, alias Chingri Palash along with his wife Parveen Sultana Titlee, said an ISPR press release.
At that time, five cocktails, two machetes, two Chinese axes and other homemade weapons along with six mobile phones were seized.
The release said that Chingri Palash had been engaged in terrorist activities for long and he is wanted in eight cases including murder, drugs and arms in Sonadangha Police Station.
It added that the people of the area expressed their satisfaction following his arrest and demanded exemplary punishment of him.
Later, they were handed over to the Sonadangha police station.
In line with the Government’s directives, Bangladesh Navy will continue its regular operations under the “In Aid to Civil Power” to eradicate drugs and terrorism, added the release.
