International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on Monday set December 4 for holding a hearing on charge framing in a case over crimes against humanity case lodged over the killing of 28 in the capital’s Rampura area during the July Mass Uprising last year.
The two-member tribunal led by Justice Shafiul Alam Mahmud passed the order in the presence of the two accused, Mohammad Redwanul Islam and Rafat Bin Alam.
The tribunal also appointed a state defence to defend two fugitive accused, former additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Khilgaon zone, Md Rashedul Islam and former officer-in-charge of Rampura Police Station, Md Moshiur Rahman.
The two accused officers, who were in plainclothes, were brought to the tribunal in a specialised prison van around 10:00 am amid heightened security in and around the court premises.
